Nina's name has a very special meaning. Tähti means Star in Finnish.
We lost our Tabri shortly before these pups were born, so Nina is her Star coming back to me. The day we were choosing our new girl's name, Tabri's picture fell from the wall in my office. I liked the name Capolavoro of Golden-West Starlight At Sedona but there were too many letters for Finnish registration. Nina Christina Porvali from of Golden - West Borzoi in Finland and I were working on her name. When I texted Tahti to her, spell check showed me this...

​Carita and Nina wanted to keep her in Finland because she was "their star". With this new name, Carita Wilkman of Capolavoro Borzoi and Nina sent us their Star to shine on at Sedona and Tabri let me know it was okay.

Tabri's star returning to me through Ninushka "Little Nina" is a gift of friendship that I will treasure forever.
This gift would not have been possible without the friendship I have had with Nina from of Golden-West Borzoi and my new friend Carita Wilkman of Capolavoro Borzoi in Finland.
True friendships involve trust and respect for one another and a committment of support and shared vision. The trust it takes to give up a girl that you were considering keeping yourself. I am truly greatful for this treasured gift of love and enduring friendship.
Nina's pedigree goes back to the brother of my very first Borzoi and AKC Champion "Niko" from 34 years ago.
My Niko was line bred Kishniga, so it's amazing knowing that this pedigree also goes back to such Kishniga Greats as:

What a WONDERFUL tie back to my beginnings in Borzoi.
Little Nina is already very reminiscent of the Stunning Isis! ​
John Reeve-Newson of Kishniga Borzoi told Kayo that Isis was his favorite when he awarded our Quinnie BOS at the prestigious Royal Canin National Championship Show!
This lovely pairing with Capolavoro and of Golden-West also has lineage from Simple Obsession, Khanzade, Leicro, Borscana, Oaklara, Yegorov, and Kozlowski.
Both my sweet Gryphy and Kayo's stunning Vivian go back to this lineage making our hearts sing!​
