My journey with Cooper is one I will cherish forever. He was my first homebred Borzoi, my first Special and we learned the ropes of a Special's campaign together. We began when he was just 2.5 years old. Since he finished his AKC Championship at 17 months and Canadian Championship at 20 months, I gave him time to grow up.
When we stepped in to the Specials arena January of 2007, I had no idea we would go as far as we did. Nothing was planned or strategized we just showed. Even after he won back to back group placments at the prestigious Seattle Kennel Club show, I still did not realize what was happening. I think I was in shock. We just kept showing and kept winning and winning and winning until we reached the end of 2007 with Cooper ranked as the #4 Borzoi All Breed, #5 Borzoi Breed and the #1 Borzoi in the All Breed competition that was handled by an owner not a professional.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Cooper began his fabulous Specials career in 2007 at just 2.5 years old.
He was a top ranked Borzoi in the Nation for 3 years in a row, garnering 130 Best Of Breed wins!
In 2007 he was exclusively Breeder-Owner Handled to EVERY win! Finishing the year as the:
#1 Breeder Owner Handled Borzoi
#4 Borzoi Breed - against top handlers
#5 Borzoi All Breed - against top handlers
Cooper was campaigned soley in the Pacific Northwest that year except for his trip to Eukanuba.
The following 2 years when Cooper was selectively shown, he was also ranked:
2008 - #7 Breed and #10 All Breed
2009 - #12 Breed and #11 All Breed

A fabulous culmination to an exciting year long campaign, our Cooper did not disappoint us.
